Lisek-English’ek has taken to appearing more and more often around the nursery schools where children play and learn. Just like the children, he loves learning while having fun, which is why he spends so much joyful time with them. The roads of the virtual world do not interest him greatly, but every now and then he leaves a few fresh tracks there. The fox wants to show the doubters that he speaks English – and that he sings beautifully! This russet little rascal is remarkably old and remembers songs that were sung even by the grandmothers and grandfathers of the children at the places he visits. Together with children from nursery schools nearby and a little further afield, he sings exactly those songs – and in English! This little fox is a real mischief-maker: he wants to be modern, yet he feels a fondness for the days when there were no computers in homes and nurseries. That is why these shared games work so well – not new to the children at all, but played in a language that is!

A few words ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Mother of two wonderful grown-up sons, she has worked with children for many years in many places and in many roles. A nursery teacher, English tutor, nanny and play leader, she watches with fascination how effectively children absorb knowledge while playing. She loves music of many genres and cultures, but she especially values the simplicity and depth of traditional Polish melodies and songs – the ones heard almost from the cradle.
Kasia is a graduate of a first-level music school. She also studied early childhood education and English language teaching, where she defended her bachelor’s thesis entitled „Rola muzyki w rozwoju dziecka...”. She obtained her master’s degree in pedagogy at the University of Gdańsk.
As an educator she is intrigued by the Kraków method of teaching the symbolic function of speech, by developing children’s musicality through the Batia Strauss method, and by elements of Steiner education. She is no less grateful for the achievements of modern neuroscience, and she also follows research into the neurophysiology of human behaviour.
... and THE ILLUSTRATOR:
Natalia started creating the illustrations for the book „Lis on the Way” at the age of 14. Ever since her final years of primary school she had loved creating animal and human characters in graphics software.
Still searching for her own style, eagerly exploring the possibilities of computer software and of her own imagination, and without following any particular trend, she created original, understated, child-friendly drawings for the book.
Her style is still evolving, as you can see for yourself on her Instagram, in a many-themed „picture catalogue”.
